A few examples of when publishing a parking space pays off

  • You are off to the coast for three days

The space sits empty while you are away anyway. Publish it for those three days and let it earn something.

  • A space for guests, and guests rarely come

You use the second space a few times a year. Publish it, and pause it when you need it.

  • You work on the coast all summer

You leave in June and come back in September. That is four months of an empty space somebody looks for all year round.

  • You have the space, but not the car

A parking space came with the flat, and you take the tram. It has stood empty for years, and it would mean a lot to somebody in the building across the road.

How does listing work on Parkly?

You publish in a few minutes and nothing ties you down. No subscription, no automatic renewal, and you pause the listing whenever you need the space back.

  1. List your space

It takes a couple of minutes. We only ask what a driver needs to know. Got more than one space? List as many as you like.

How to write a good listing

The wizard has five screens. Required: an address picked from the suggestions, the space type, a title, at least one rental duration, at least one price and at least one photo, and three or more are recommended. Everything else is optional, and the draft saves itself, so you can stop and continue later.

  1. Location

Pick the address from the suggestions: without a point on the map the listing cannot be published. Decide right away whether to hide the exact location: the pin then sits up to 200 metres from the real spot, and you share the street yourself once you agree. The house number is never shown, but the title stays public, so keep the street out of it.

  2. Type and features

Measure the space before you start writing. Width and length are optional, but they answer the first question every driver has: will the car fit. An average SUV needs roughly 190 × 470 cm. This is also where you say whether the space is available around the clock.

  3. Availability and price

Answer even when the answer is „no charging", because drivers filter the search by it. With a wallbox or a fast charger, state the power: 7.4 kW charges on a single phase and fills an average car overnight, while 11 kW needs three phases and is roughly twice as fast.

  4. Photos and description

There is no calendar to keep: just say when the space is free, until when or „open-ended", and which durations you're willing to rent by. Enter a price for at least one duration, because a duration with no price reads „price on request". Before you settle on a figure, look at what comparable spaces in your district ask, and count in whether electricity is included. Photos, the title and the description are on the same screen; the example shows what good ones look like.

  5. Review and publish

The last screen shows the listing exactly as a driver sees it, so read it through. Publishing needs a confirmed email address, a phone number verified by SMS and one publication per listing. Your phone number is shown only if you tick that box, and only to signed-in users; we log every reveal.

Example: what a driver sees

Your photo

Shoot in daylight and from the way in: show the whole space and the approach to it: the barrier, the gate or the courtyard entrance. The first photo is the cover, and we strip the EXIF data while processing, so the GPS location of the shot never reaches the listing.

Title

Covered parking space, Trešnjevka

The space type and the district, no street and no house number. We suggest a title; change it however you like.

Description

The space is in a closed courtyard behind the building, entered from the street through a remote-controlled barrier. It is 250 cm wide, so a larger SUV fits. Five minutes on foot from the tram, and electricity is included in the price.

Three or four sentences: what the space is like, how you get in, how big it is and what is nearby. Keep your phone number and the exact address out of it; you share those once you agree.

A made-up example, not a real listing.

What does listing a space cost?

€24.90 once per space, VAT included. The listing stays live for 12 months from publication, does not renew, and nothing is charged after that. Every listing is paid for separately, so three spaces mean three publications.

  • You pay per listing

One listing is one parking space. With two spaces you publish two listings and pay for each separately, so each has its own price and its own duration.

  • Pause it as often as you like

When you find a driver you pause the listing, so nobody contacts you while the space is taken. When the rental ends you put it back up. Within 12 months you do that at no extra cost.

  • After 12 months nothing more is charged

The listing simply goes inactive and stops showing. If you want it back you pay another €24.90, and a new year starts.

Frequently asked questions about pricing

What does it take to list a space?

It is all straightforward. We ask for only a couple of things, so a driver knows there is a real person behind the listing. We do not review listing content up front, but every listing carries a report button.

  • A parking space of your own

The space has to be yours: private, not public. Please do not try to earn on public parking spaces by listing them as your own; we take those listings down and suspend the account.

  • Email address and phone number

You create an account with your email address and confirm your number by SMS. It also confirms you are not a bot.

  • A few minutes of your time

Photos, a price and a short description. Every space goes up as its own listing.

An empty space doesn't pay the bills

We know, there is something lovely about the sight of a neighbour circling the building for the third time. You can keep watching. Or solve it for them and earn something along the way.

Frequently asked questions from owners

  • How much do I pay for a listing?

Publishing one space costs €24.90 once and runs for 12 months. There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself. When you find a driver you pause the listing, so people stop contacting you while the space is taken. When that rental ends you put it back up and you are visible again. You can do that as many times as you like within those 12 months, at no extra cost. After a year the listing expires, so if you want to keep it up you pay another €24.90.

  • Can I pause the listing while the space is taken?

You can, and that is how it is meant to work. While the space is taken the listing sits paused and nobody contacts you. When it frees up you put it back up in a couple of clicks. Within 12 months you can do that as often as you need.

  • How do I set the price?

The price is entirely your call. Look at the listings in your own neighbourhood and at what the public car parks nearby charge, then settle somewhere in between. If you are near the centre, a hospital or a university, your space is worth more than you think.

You do not have to get it right first time. You can change the price whenever you like, so if nobody gets in touch for a week, drop it a little and see what happens.

  • How does the driver pay me?

However the two of you agree. Money does not pass through Parkly, so you are not tied to any payment system. Cash, bank transfer, KEKS Pay, whatever suits the two of you. There is no commission, and everything you agree on stays yours.

  • Can I rent the space out only while I am away?

That is exactly why Parkly exists. You go to the coast for a week, the space sits empty anyway, so let it earn something in the meantime. You choose the duration yourself, from one day up to a year. When you need the space again you simply pause the listing, and the next time you are away you put it back up.

  • I have several spaces. Do I pay for each one separately?

Yes, €24.90 per space, each with its own listing and its own price. That way a driver sees exactly what they are taking.

  • How does a driver get in touch?

An enquiry reaches you through Parkly, and you can also choose to have your phone number shown. You decide how much you reveal, and from there you arrange things directly.

  • What if nobody gets in touch?

Get in touch with us and we will look at the listing together. Most often it comes down to the price or the photos, and you can change both whenever you like.

  • Can I rent out a space if I'm a tenant myself?

Check with your landlord first. Parkly is a listings site and isn't a party to the agreement, so it's on you to check whether you're allowed to sublet the space.

  • Do I need a contract with the driver?

Parkly is just a listings site. The two of you arrange everything between yourselves, and we're not a party to that agreement. If you'd feel safer with a contract, it's on you to draw one up, the same as when renting an apartment.
