Parkly is just getting started
Behind Parkly is a small team from Zagreb and an idea that seemed too simple for nobody to be doing it: the city is full of parking spaces nobody uses, and full of people circling the block every evening. The two sides just need connecting.
We are new, so some things surely do not work the way they should. If you hit a bug, something is not clear, or you have an idea for making it better, write to us. Those messages are the most useful thing we get right now, and we answer every one.

What is Parkly?
Parkly is a Zagreb marketplace for private parking spaces. We connect people whose space is sitting empty with people who need one. In the same neighbourhood, no agents, no commission. It's free for drivers; the owner only pays to publish the listing.
Why does Parkly only work in Zagreb?
Honestly? Because we're from here. We know this problem from our own neighbourhood rather than from research, and it seemed fair to solve the one we struggle with ourselves first.
But we don't plan to stop at Zagreb. If you think Parkly would make sense in your city, get in touch.
Get in touch →Where can I park in Zagreb?
Good luck. Kidding. Here's the real answer. Zagreb has four options. Free street parking still exists outside the paid zones, on the outer edges of neighbourhoods like Trešnjevka, Dubrava, Sesvete and Novi Zagreb, though evenings get busy enough that it often comes down to circling the block. Inside the paid zones you pay by the hour: Zone 1 is the most expensive and the most time-limited, Zone 2 allows longer stays, and zones 3 and 4 have no time limit at all. Residents inside a zone can buy a resident permit, and some neighbourhoods have switched to block parking. The third option is public and private garages: pricier, but covered and with no time limit. The fourth is private parking spaces that owners rent out directly, in courtyards, buildings and garages, and that's what Parkly covers: you take a space by the day, month or year.
Find parking in your neighbourhood →Can I rent parking for just one day?
Yes. The owner picks which durations they offer (day, week, month or year), and the search filter shows you only the spaces that match what you need.
Is it worth renting out my parking space?
If your space is sitting empty, almost always. Publishing a listing costs €24.90 once and it runs for 12 months, and Parkly takes no percentage of the rent. Whatever you agree with the driver is yours to keep.
Frequently asked questions from owners
How much do I pay for a listing?
Publishing one space costs €24.90 once and runs for 12 months. There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself. When you find a driver you pause the listing, so people stop contacting you while the space is taken. When that rental ends you put it back up and you are visible again. You can do that as many times as you like within those 12 months, at no extra cost. After a year the listing expires, so if you want to keep it up you pay another €24.90.
Learn more about pricing →Can I pause the listing while the space is taken?
You can, and that is how it is meant to work. While the space is taken the listing sits paused and nobody contacts you. When it frees up you put it back up in a couple of clicks. Within 12 months you can do that as often as you need.
How do I set the price?
The price is entirely your call. Look at the listings in your own neighbourhood and at what the public car parks nearby charge, then settle somewhere in between. If you are near the centre, a hospital or a university, your space is worth more than you think.
You do not have to get it right first time. You can change the price whenever you like, so if nobody gets in touch for a week, drop it a little and see what happens.
How does the driver pay me?
However the two of you agree. Money does not pass through Parkly, so you are not tied to any payment system. Cash, bank transfer, KEKS Pay, whatever suits the two of you. There is no commission, and everything you agree on stays yours.
Can I rent the space out only while I am away?
That is exactly why Parkly exists. You go to the coast for a week, the space sits empty anyway, so let it earn something in the meantime. You choose the duration yourself, from one day up to a year. When you need the space again you simply pause the listing, and the next time you are away you put it back up.
I have several spaces. Do I pay for each one separately?
Yes, €24.90 per space, each with its own listing and its own price. That way a driver sees exactly what they are taking.
How does a driver get in touch?
An enquiry reaches you through Parkly, and you can also choose to have your phone number shown. You decide how much you reveal, and from there you arrange things directly.
What if nobody gets in touch?
Get in touch with us and we will look at the listing together. Most often it comes down to the price or the photos, and you can change both whenever you like.
Can I rent out a space if I'm a tenant myself?
Check with your landlord first. Parkly is a listings site and isn't a party to the agreement, so it's on you to check whether you're allowed to sublet the space.
Do I need a contract with the driver?
Parkly is just a listings site. The two of you arrange everything between yourselves, and we're not a party to that agreement. If you'd feel safer with a contract, it's on you to draw one up, the same as when renting an apartment.
Common questions about parking in Zagreb
How do I find a space in my district?
Pick a district in the grid above: the tile opens the search with that district already filtered. Every city district is offered, including the ones with no listings yet, and you can change the filters in the search itself.
Do I need a parking ticket if I rent a private space?
No. Zones and time limits apply to public parking, and a private space (in a garage, a courtyard or a building's own car park) is not public parking. You pay for a ticket only while the car stands on the street in a charged zone.
How is the rent paid?
Directly to the owner, in whatever way the two of you agree. Parkly does not collect the rent, takes no commission and is not a party to your agreement, searching, enquiries and messages are free for drivers.
What if there are no listings in my district yet?
Parkly has only just started, so some districts have no listings yet. The search then says there are no results and suggests wider filters or districts that do have spaces. Try a neighbouring district or a different duration. If you have a space of your own, you can list it.
